I came into the office to do some research then went to the Olympic Stadium to record a story with the bosses out there. Back to the office for a little bit of work and then across here to have a chat with you. *** robbie1 (robbielowe@203.101.13.248) has joined #seven How are you looking forward to the Year 2000 Games? MrFisher: I can't wait for the 2000 Games. The Olympics are the best thing ever and I'm counting the nights until the opening ceremony. To ask a question Type /msg #questions [Type your question here] whats it like chatting to all the stars mattdapp: THe thing I like is that you realise that they're just normal people. THey have good days and bad days the same as us but the difference is they can do one thing extraordinarily well because of their concentration and their focus. Do you know/have you met any of the cast & crew from Home & Away? MrFisher: No. I work in sport :-) Tracey which sportsperson have you yet to meet that you would most like to meet? BeBop1: Good question - Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods and I wouldn't mind doing an interview with ROnaldo. *** Skotland (scottlaroc@dial-1-7.latrobe.edu.au) has joined #seven Groovy, Im so obsessed with him. When you go and interview him can i please come !? JuPpiE: Sure, I'll get you to carry my bags :-) when u are on tv is it hard to remember lines at all and do u many autographs from people mattdapp: I've never collected autographs and it's not hard to remember lines because most of the time Brooksy and I are just having a chat! How do you like the Games being held at the start of the Millenium (not long to go!)? What a way to celebrate, too! MrFisher:Its so lucky that we have The Games in the year 2000, beacuse everybody looks at it like the start of a new era, and lots of us will talk about 2000 being a defining moment in our lives. Thanks Tracey for chatting to me and also for taking the time to chat to me and everyone here also mattdapp: No problem - anytime. Let's do it again next year! When did you first realise that you wanted to be a sports journalist and how did you get started? BeBop1: I never realised I wanted to be a sports journalist, it happened by accident, really. I started studying public relations and worked for a PR company that had a couple of sporting clients and for some reason I inherited them and sport has been my life ever since. I worked on the World Surfing Tour for a couple of years and then got a job at the ABC as a trainee sports commentator. *** spurs (~thegames@203.103.225.58) has joined #seven Tracey do u get many people asking u for autographs at all i know i would love to have yours *** spurs (~thegames@203.103.225.58) has left #seven mattdapp: Sure, you can have mine. Quite a lot of people at functions ask for my autograph but I'm definitely not in the league of a sports superstar. You can write to Channel 7 and I'll send you a photo with my autograph. Is is tough being a female sports journalist? BeBop1: Not at all, it's the best. Tracey who would be the most famous person u have interviewed mattdapp: Pele the soccer legend. George Foreman the boxer. Steffi Graf. Gerhard Berger (F1 driver). There's quite a few! End of #seven buffer Mon Nov 23 18:12:14 1998
